I've been...

a bad blogger!  I keep saying to myself, I should post more but I never seem to.   I haven't been doing a lot of scrapping lately, the weather has been beautiful here so I've been trying to enjoy it while I can.   This last round of chemo wasn't as hard on me as the last one, which was great.  Just my fingertips are still a bit painful and numb, which is quite annoying when you are a crafter, gardener, and are on the computer.  But it will soon be over, one more treatment next week(hopefully) and then I'm done with chemo!!!!  YEAH!  Just my radiation treatments in September and that's it.  It will be so nice to go back to work at the store, I miss it a lot, the girls working there and all the customers.  Speaking of the store, here is my layout for this month's challenge kit:

We had to use the word "Discover" and this great line of paper by Teresa Collins.

There is a printed transparency in the kit which I cut out flowers with my Tim Holtz flower die.
I used a very small amount of black alcohol ink on the edges, layered them, and put a button in the middle with the Tim Holtz memo pin.  I cut out a tiny circle of paper, the size of the pin circle, glued it to the back and filled the center with Diamond Glaze.  I think I saw this on the gypsy girl blog - Lucky Day.  When  my husband and I were in Australia last year, we flew over to Tasmania for three days.
I always wanted to go there, and it being my grandmother's birthplace, we decided to make a quick trip.
I would definitely go back again, but for a longer time, there is so much we didn't see and it's a beautiful place!  We checked out the library archives for information about my family, but they were closing soon, so we couldn't find a lot out, but we did manage to find the address of their store.  My great-grandparents and great-uncles came from England where their family had a basketmaking factory and decided to start a business in Hobart, Tasmania.  The old address for the store was on the way to our hotel so we walked over.  It was now separated into a couple of stores, one of which was a watch repair shop.  When we went in, we told the owner we were visiting from Canada and wanted to see where the old Bridges store used to be and much to our surprise, he said,"oh, they moved awhile ago across the street".  The company was still around, but mostly a sporting goods store and had been sold.  I guess it had still been in the family(a descendent of one of the uncles) a short while ago.  I wish we had more time to research more about the family, maybe next time!
