I'll just give you a quick explanation of what I did.
I painted the center of my background paper with Picket Fence Distress Paint, added some patterned papers (the red one has added white Christmastime Remnant Rub-ons) and Merriment Tissue tape.
My snowflakes are Sizzix's Tim Holtz Snowflake Rosette and Mini Snowflake Rosettes with tissue tape in the middle. I also used Sizzix's new Tim Holtz Ornate Frame and Snowflake Garland.
One of my favourite embellishments in this new release is the metal skates! I added Tim Holtz Rock Candy Crackle paint to my metal embellishments, and while wet, added Rock Candy Glitter. It gave the metal pieces a frosty look. Just can't use a little bit of glitter, so I added it to my snowflakes and frame also. Some of the rub-on snowflakes were applied to clear plastic and cut out, so they look more dimensional.
It all started with the frame, which is made with Sizzix's Tim Holtz Postage Stamp Frame die, Oval Movers & Shapers Die and Shattered Core-dinations card stock.
I cut out about 4 - 6 of the frames with the oval center from my card stock. To keep them all attached, I take a small hole punch ( I think it's 1/8 or 1/16, not sure) and punch all around the outside of the oval. I hand stitch with heavy thread or twine. I do this because, next I take all the frames and run them under warm water. After they are fairly wet, carefully blot with a paper towel to remove excess water. Carefully manipulate your wet paper, curling it up on the edges. I let it dry and then painted a few layers of different paint colours, distress ink and rock candy crackle paint. I think that the more uneven and more layers you use, the better it turns out! I added an Idea-ology skeleton charm (painted) to the frame to finish it off.
Well, that's the last of my projects for Tim's booth. I wanted to do a few more, but time ran out!
After having the opportunity of using some of his new products, I can't wait for them to arrive at the store!
Until next time,
Jan
Fantastic pages, the Laboratorie one has to be my favourite.
