A Whimsical Dog Card

Hi everyone!  For all of you dog lovers out there, I have a card here featuring dies by Debbie Potter for Sizzix.

This collection features dogs and cats with flower accents dies.  I love Debbie's Whimsical designs!

This Best Friends dog Thinlits die comes with it's own frame.  When die-cutting with this die, I used the Sizzix Sandwich - Magnetic Platform, Cutting Plate, Paper, Thinlits die (cutting side facing down) and Cutting Plate.  I always use the Magnetic Platform with my thin dies, they don't move around, perfect for doing multiple dies at the same time and I feel you get a better cut.  When die-cutting parts of the die, it's easy to place the paper where you want it to cut out without the die moving.  I cut out the small flowers in a different colour and adhered them on top of the yellow complete die cut.  I also did that with the dog's nose, eyes, frame, heart and bird.

For the large flower and leaves I used Debbie Potter's Intricate Garden Flowers Thinlits die.  My Sizzix Sandwich was the same as above.  If you don't have the Magnetic Platform, you are going to use the two tabs on top of your Sizzix Platform Base. Cutting Plate, Paper, Thinlits die, Cutting plate.

My patterned papers I used were from the Simple Stories collection called, Heart.  The little "I Heart You" is a clear sticker from the Life in Colour Collection, also from Simple Stories.  I'm a "dog" person, but the cat in this collection is pretty darn cute, I could be tempted!
