Some exciting news...

I have been asked to be on the design team for The Little Black Dress Kit Club!  Their kits look amazing, lots of product, even some vintage items included! (right up my alley!) I feel honored to be a part of this team and hopefully, can inspire you all!

Here's a layout for the Color Room palette #8

Sorry, the photo isn't the greatest, I took it when it was cloudy out and it's a little dark.  The palette had blueish purple in it, and I don't have a lot of purple in my stash.  I was never a purple kind of gal, but lately there have been some new papers that have the reddish purple with green palettes, which I don't mind.  Anyways, I decided to make my own glimmer mist with perfect pearls (which I've had for ages and never really used) and water in a mini mister.  It worked great and I just mixed enough to use on my layout.  I like using the mini mister sometimes even with Glimmer Mist, I'll pore in just a small amount into the mini mister.  I find it's easier to control and your area that is misted is smaller.

I used a doily as a mask (I found some small ones in the cake decorating section at the craft store) and turned some doilies into the bottom of flowers.  I also cut out the other flowers with my slice, wet and glimmer misted just a touch, and layered.  I alcohol inked the butterfly center in the big flower (it was a Creative Imaginations pink jeweled butterfly brad) with a purple color.  If you don't have the right color of rhinestones, just alcohol ink them!

I'm just taking it easy this week, resting up from my treatment on Monday.  Everything went o.k., just a little more bruised in my arm where the drugs are put in (those drugs aren't easy on the veins!)  Hey, now that I think of it, I should have taken a photo of my arm and used that in my layout, it's the perfect purple!  Lol!

Take care and hope you have a great day!  The sun is shining here!  Yeah!

I hope you're feeling OK. What are you getting first? Taxotere was rough on my veins. Make sure your nurse mixes a lot of plain saline with it so you don't get burns. I got burns on both hands. They're fading. I feel for you on losing your hair. It was very hard for me. I'd run past mirrors to get into the shower. I didn't look at myself, until one time the towel fell off my head while putting make up on... I had no idea who that lady was looking back at me. It's all so weird, but you'll be OK. What's nice is you know it's not forever and it's for the greater good.

I adore your layout! I love lilacs. You did a fab job with all the goodies in the kit!! Congrats on the dt gig!!

Beautiful lo & congrats on joining the DT. The tip about using perfect pearls in a mister is a good one - I will give it a try.
