Hello there, glad you stopped by!
Thank you so much for all the wonderful comments on my previous post, the Tim Holtz Creativation Blog Hop. I hope you enjoyed all the inspiration as much as I did. The winners of the blog hop have been posted on Richele's blog here. Thank you Richele, for organizing it all, hope we do it again!Today I'm sharing my another project from Tim's booth. I didn't have a chance to do much this year. My son(lives in Australia) came home for Christmas this year and brought his girlfriend who has never been to Canada or seen snow! Unfortunately it was so cold, with temperatures as low as -46C, I'm not sure she will want to return for our winters! She couldn't believe or understand how we could live in those cold temperatures, and at this point (it's still cold) I'm beginning to question why we live here too! We also had a very special surprise a few days after Christmas, my daughter came home too. I can't believe my kids all kept it a secret. It's the first time our family have all been together for Christmas in over ten years! So it was a very busy holiday season for me, not much crafting time!
Here's is a project using one of my favourite Idea-ology embellishments, the Trinket Tins (TH93698).
I have turned the Trinket Tin into a wagon, using the Tim Holtz Milk Caps (TH93684) as wheels. To attach them, I cut strips of thin chipboard, measuring across the bottom of the tin plus about 1 1/2" extra and about 1/2 wide. Attach one end to the back of the milk cap with a Hex Fastener(TH93268), adhere the strip to the bottom of the tin and with the opposite end piece, attach another milk cap. I distressed the caps a bit, and added a small amount of white paint to fade the colour. Fluted Stars (TH93660) were lightly painted and adhered to the front.
The tin itself is lined with Idea-ology Aviary Collage Paper (TH93706) that I applied with Collage Medium.
Some of my little flowers were die-cut with Sizzix's new Thinlits set, Funky Floral #3 which will be available in April. There are three different sets in the Funky Floral series. I created my coloured paper with Distress Oxide inks and Distress Mixed Media paper, giving them a soft watercolored look. I also used the Tiny Tattered Floral Thinlits set to make a few tattered roses.
#1 February Release
#2 March Release
#3 April Release
Before filling my tin with flowers, I glued three small glass jars that were lightly painted(Corked Vials TH92899) to the base and then added a tiny bit of crunched up Tim Holtz Fringe (TH93688) in the new soft cream colour. The Fringe was also added to the inside of the tin. A painted metal Butterfly (TH93689), Snarky Small Talk Sticker (TH93704) and Paper Dolls (TH93555) lightly coloured were added also. These paper dolls come in a package of 107. That's a lot of paper dolls! With each new Tim Holtz release, there will be new ones added and some older ones removed, but the product number will remain the same. My string is Tim Holtz craft thread, braided and a Story Stick (TH93680) tied to the end. White paint was applied, then wiped off, leaving the numbers white.
Hope you are inspired by my project to create your own wagon!
I have one more project to share, will do that soon!
Thanks so much for stopping by,
Jan
