Hello everyone, I'm sharing another project created for the Tim Holtz Sizzix Chapter 3 Facebook Release!
This Invite features the new Cauldron Bigz Die, 3D Crackle Texture Fade, and Handmade Alphabet Bigz XL(hidden) dies.
Still love those bigz dies, they can cut out all those heavier materials, such as chipboard. I adhered Metallic kraftstock onto chipboard for the cauldron. Sanded the edges heavily and lighter in the middle. The thread is Tim Holtz which was dyed with Distress Spray and bones tied to the handle. This one has a great feature, there's a small slit in the cauldron.....
so you can slip in hidden messages! I used a piece of Mixed Media Cardstock (coloured with Distress and Distress Oxide inks and sprays) cut to fit the slit. The top of the tag was die-cut with the smoke die in this set. I had the paper hanging off the edge and cut along the edge of the die. Cut two of the smoke pieces, adhering one on each side of the tag, this reinforces it as it will be pulled up to reveal the word party.
This was also cut out with Metallic Kraftstock and adhered to the tag. Love the font on this XL die!
Don't you love these 3D Texture Fades? This one is Crackle, but when used on the other side, it looks like bubbles.
I like using Mixed Media Cardstock and colouring these embossed pieces with paint. as I show my technique here. It seems like a long process, but it really isn't, as you are using very little paint, and each layer dries quite fast. With different colour combinations, you can get so many different results!
Love the colours in this one! I started with dark colours and worked up to the lighter, more vibrant ones. I thought I had written down which exact ones I used, but I can't find my list, sorry! I know I either started with Espresso or Black Soot, then into the purples, ending with greens and a bit of yellow.
Instead of a card type invitation that opens, I just added the invite onto the back of my matted front. This was a blank ephemera clip art (it might have been from Graphics Fairy, I downloaded a long time ago!), added in my wording in photoshop, changed the background colour a bit, and printed on a 4 x 6 piece of photo paper.
At the bottom of my cauldron, I applied some Halloween Clipping stickers (one of which I noticed when processing my photos, had slipped down! Darn, don't you hate that when you noticed somethings not right after all the photos are taken! lol!) A piece of Tim Holtz Halloween Ephemera with the words"You're invited to a " die-cut from Tim Holtz Sizzix Alphanumeric Label Thinlits 664177 set. Love this set, the letters are only 3/8" high, perfect for small areas!
Thanks so much for dropping by, hope you are enjoying all the amazing projects done for this release! Tim has a link to everyone's blogs or instagram accounts where they are sharing, here. Still more to come, plus a few samples I created for his Idea-ology release! See you soon!
Until next time,
Jan
